I judge you for seeking attention.
Yet, I want your eyes on my piece even now.
What does that say about me?

I insist women are too meddlesome.
Yet, I long to hear your worries and I’ll drink up all your tea.
What does that say about me?
It says I need a savior
to forgive me every day.
Where can I find such a savior?

that I can’t stop being such a hypocrite!
Perfection’s not expected of me.
Who knows how much attention I am entitled to?
Who says I’m not in on your tea?
I can be the person I was made to be and it’s alright
because I’m giving you permission to be who you’re made to be
and when I lay down to sleep before I close my eyes at night
